Severe flooding in Queensland left entire communities cut off, depriving families of reliable access to food, water, and other essentials. Ingham and surrounding areas remain largely isolated, with helicopters being the only means of transportation. WCK is using helicopters to reach these remote areas and is working closely with local partners to serve meals.
WCK completed our first food drop via helicopter from Townsville, delivering hundreds of sandwiches and meat pies—an Australian staple—to the isolated communities of Long Pocket and Abergowie. For one more week, WCK deployed helicopters carrying hot meals and sandwiches to multiple flood-affected areas, including Long Pocket, Abergowie, Macnade, Halifax, Cordelia, and Forrest Beach.

When disaster strikes, WCK’s Relief Team mobilizes to the frontlines with the urgency of now to start cooking and provide meals to people in need. By partnering with organizations on the ground and activating a network of food trucks or emergency kitchens, WCK provides freshly made, nutritious meals to communities impacted by disasters quickly and effectively.
